What is Race Around Ireland ?

The Race Around Ireland is a non-stop cycling event for all level of cyclists, male or female, solo or team.   People have been coming from all over the world every year for the last 11 years to take part in what has been listed as one of the  “World’s Toughest Endurance Events“.  Some people come back every year, others start as crew, then cycle as part of a team and the toughest of them go on to do it Solo.

The 12th edition of Race Around Ireland takes place on Sunday August 23rd 2020. It starts in Trim to the backdrop of the imposing Trim Castle and during the annual Trim Salmon of Knowledge Festival. In 2017 the Trim Salmon of Knowledge Festival was developed in partnership with Race Around Ireland to enhance the starting point of the race and this partnership has gone from strength to strength and led to the race finishing in Trim since 2018.

Cyclist will take in some of the most wonderful scenery and historic sights in Ireland, from the starting point of Trim Castle to Newgrange, The Causeway Coast, The Dark Hedges, Malin Head, The Cliffs of Moher, The Ring of Kerry, Mizen Head, the Garden County (Wicklow) before finishing up back in Trim.
